Race board
D+ Democrat ahead R+ Republican ahead share of the vote usually counted by now
Hour by hour
How to read this
- Polls is the average of the final polling averages listed for each race. Margins are in points.
- Expected counted is how much of the vote was usually counted by this hour in recent elections. A state counting slower than usual isn't a bad sign by itself.
- Vs. polls compares the current margin to the polling average. Early counts are skewed: in some states the first ballots released lean Democratic (early and mail votes), in others Republican (Election Day votes). Read the "Early count" note before trusting an early lead.
- Projection appears once several counties have reported. It measures how far the counted counties have swung from the 2024 presidential result, then assumes the uncounted vote in every county swings the same way. That corrects for which parts of the state have reported. It can't correct for the order ballots are counted within each county, so it's still shaky early on.
- Results come from unofficial feeds and are checked every few minutes. If they look wrong, they might be.
